This
tube with Internal Shield is identical to the BA-2 except that it has an
internal platinum shield coating which is internally connected to one side of
the filament. The
tube is used where the shielding effect of the coating is
useful.
The tube should not be used with controllers which
use electron bombardment outgassing, which will destroy the internal coating.
In the drawing the pins for the filament are labeled F and the ends of the grid are attached to the pins labeled G. The ion collector wire passes through the top of the tube. To connect this tube to the IGC-10 Ion Gauge Control use cable CBL-2.
