GFV Associates provides special, custom measurement services for vacuum equipment manufacturers and their customers.

Recent projects include:

• Measurement of the conductance of large diameter butterfly valves.  The calibration depended on our ability to provide precise, traceable pressure measurements at high vacuum.
• Measurement of the response of a variety of thermal effect gauges, that is Pirani and thermocouple gauges, mounted in various positions.  We developed computer output to display the large amount of data recorded.
• Speed of response measurement of TC based gauges.  For this project we developed a circuit to drive a high-speed valve to provide step pressure increases.
• Measurement of the sensitivity of newly designed cold cathode gauges.  We developed a method for adjusting the sensitivity to a standard value by magnet positioning.
• Life tests of ion tubes.
